GENERATIVE LEARNING APPLICATION MODEL TOWARD THE INCREASE OF STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING SKILL IN MTS AN- NUR PALANGKA RAYA SOUND CONCEPT ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017

ABSTRACT

This research aims to know :(1) teacher and students’ activites after learning process by using generative learning model in MTs An-Nur Palangkaraya on sound concept; (2) students’ learning motivations after learning process by using generative learning model in MTs An-Nur Palangkaraya on sound material; (3) the increase of students learning results in MTs An-Nur Palangka Raya after application of genarative learning model on sound material; (4) the increase of students’ critical thinking skill by using  generative learning model in MTs An-Nur Palangka Raya on sound material;

This research used quantitative approach and the kind of this research is Pra-Ekperimental design with One Group Pretest – Posttest design type. Number of population is 33 students. Research result data is analyzed by using Microsoft Excel program and using SPSS for Windows Version 16.0.

Research results: (1) teacher’s activities on science integrated learning in totality with generative learning model got percentage of average score about 76,39% with good category. Asessment of students activites on science integrated learning in totality with generative learning model got percentage of average score about 72,73% with good enough category; (2) average result of students learning motivation by using generative learning model in totality with sound material got percentage of average score about 72,03% with medium category; (3) average score in pre-test result of critical thinking before using generative learning model is about 14,09 while average score in post- test of critical thinking after doing generative learning model is about 52,91. From the analysis N-Gain test result is gotten score 0,45 with medium score. So, the increase cognitive learning result after doing generative learning program is medium; (4) average score of pre-test result in students’ cognitive learning before using generative learning model is 17,68 while average score of  cognitive learning result of post-test after doing generative learning model is 60,83. From the analysis N-Gain test result is gotten score 0,52 with medium category, so the increase cognitive learning result after doing generative learning model is medium.
