The Influence of Guided Inquiry Learning Model toward Students’ Scientific Attitude on Protista Material Grade X MIPA SMAN 5 Palangka Raya Academic Year 2016/2017

Abstract

This research aims to know : (1) is there the difference between students’ scientific attitude that were taught by using guided inquiry learning model with the students that were taught by direct learning model, (2) is there the difference between  students’ cognitive learning results that were taught by using guided inquiry learning model with  the students that were taught by direct learning model.

This research used two group pretest-postest design program model. The used instrument is questionnaire of students’ scientific attitude and students’ cognitive learning test. The research’s populations is grade X semester 1 SMAN 5 Palangka Raya academic year 2016/2017, the research sample are 29 students from grade X MIPA 2 as experiment class and 28 students from grade X MIPA1 as control class. The analysis data of students’ scientific attitude questionnaire and pretest-posttest THB used SPSS Program version 21.0 for windows.

The research’s result showed that : (1) there is not the significant difference between students’ scientific attitude that were taught by using guided inquiry learning model with  the students that were taught by direct learning model on significant level 0,189. So, there is not influence of guided inquiry learning model  towards students’ scientific attitude on Protista material at grade X MIPA SMAN 5 Palangka Raya academic year  2016/2017. (2) there is not significant difference between  students’ cognitive learning results which were taught by using guided inquiry learning model with  the students that were taught by direct learning model on significant level 0,929. So, there is not influence of guided inquiry learning model towards students’ cognitive learning result on Protista material at grade X MIPA SMAN 5 Palangka Raya academic year 2016/2017.
